The indication is to sing this one “duskily” i.e. “veiled”. So sing it slowly, gently and with an air of mystery. The first line is set as a dialogue between the sopranos and altos with a slightly astringent clash between the G flats and ‘F’s which can be brought out by leaning on the “pon” of “upon”. Meanwhile, the lower parts underpin with a slightly impressionistic harmony. The final bars can fade into a gently fluttery green haze.
